Consequences: Students who disregard class rules will face consequences. The teacher will deal with violators in a progressive fashion.
Grading:
- Bring materials to class and be prepared for class. Pens, pencils, paper, notebook, text/novel, school planner, and binder are all suggested materials for class.
- Participate in class to learn and earn participation points. Volunteer to share your opinion or respond to questions about the text.
- Visit me during break, lunch, or after school on Wednesdays for help with assignments/make-up work because of an excused absence or illness. You may retake some quizzes/tests and redo essays if you earn less than a C grade. Please see me about this individually.
- Check Aeries for your grades and check Google Classroom about homework and classwork.
Class Rules:
- Respect the teacher, fellow students, and the classroom.
- No food or drink is allowed in class.
- Electronic devices only come out with my direction; otherwise, they remain off. Students are responsible for their own devices.

Grading:
- Grades will be calculated from a traditional point scale. If students are half a percentage point below the next higher grade, they will receive the next higher grade.
- Students will have access to one late pass per semester to turn in late work, or they can turn in the late pass for 20 points of extra credit. All other late work will be accepted as half credit.
- Students with an excused absence can make up or turn in the missed assignment the following day of class. It is the student’s responsibility to see the teacher about missed work.
- Grades are posted on Aeries, so please monitor your progress and collect graded work.
